Thompson Engineering has a full-time opportunity for a Survey Party Chief. The Survey Party Chief oversees the survey crew in the daily responsibilities of the land surveying department. This position is responsible for reporting survey data to the Survey Team Manager. Ideal candidates would need to travel to support various project needs.

• Oversee the daily functions of the survey crew
• Responsible for the set up and completion of the survey crew on job sites under the direct supervision of the Professional Land Surveyor and/or job supervisor
• Ensure proper reporting of daily work logs to the Org Manager
• Reduce survey data to the Org Manager
• Interpret blueprints/plans/deeds in order to effectively lead the survey crew
• Drive company vehicle to and from job sites
• Operate all survey equipment and interpret data to report information to the Org Manager
• Understand and compute field calculations relative to the survey data collected
• Effectively manage the time and schedules of the survey crew
• Have on-time and consistent attendance
• Five (5) years verifiable experience in running a crew in surveying commercial and/or heavy industrial construction stakeout
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Be able to read and comprehend measurements
• Intermediate math skills (trigonometry and coordinate geometry)
• Must be able to communicate effectively with others

• Ability to work outside in the field up to 100% of the time
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
• Required to remain standing for a minimum of eight (8) hours per day and walk long distances
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb on a ladder
• Must be able to drive a company vehicle to and from job sites
