Qualifications

Matric
Certificate or Diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance

Requirements

13 years bookkeeping or finance administration experience
Working knowledge of South African VAT and payroll legislation
Experience with accounting software such as Sage Pastel, Sage Accounting, Xero, or Quick Books
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Duties

Capture and process supplier invoices, customer invoices, receipts, and payments
Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (GAAP)
Perform bank, cash, and creditor reconciliations
Assist with VAT 201 calculations and submissions
Reconcile VAT control accounts and maintain supporting documentation
Assist with payroll support functions, including PAYE, UIF, and SDL
Support monthly EMP
201 submissions and EMP
501 bi-annual reconciliations
Prepare schedules to support month-end and management reporting
Maintain accurate and audit-ready financial records
Respond to supplier and internal account queries
Assist during external audits and independent reviews
Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and relevant legislation
