Mobile Mechanic – RAC

Join the RAC. Together we are going places. A competitive base salary of £38,625, with on‑target earnings of up to £50,000. A guaranteed overtime option increases your base salary to £44,385, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities.

40 hours per week, core hours 8:30am‑5:00pm, and 1 in 4 Saturdays.

As a RAC Mobile Mechanic in the Service, Maintenance and Repair division you will bring expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills directly to our customers, wherever they are. From driveways to office car parks you will deliver first‑class service without the constraints of a traditional garage.

• You get people. Mechanics are out there on driveways, chatting with customers, giving advice and representing the RAC with pride.
• You like mixing things up. Every day is a little different – servicing, diagnostics, repairs and checks.
• You manage stock, do reporting and keep conversations flowing.
• You think on your feet – trusted to make the right call for each customer.

• Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
• At least 3 years’ hands‑on experience as a vehicle technician working with a range of light vehicles.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

• Market‑competitive base salary £38,625, with the opportunity to increase earnings up to £50,000 through bonuses and premium‑rate overtime.
• Full‑time 40‑hour week with Monday‑Saturday availability (8am‑8pm). Flexibility and stability.
• Opt‑in guaranteed overtime after your first month – choose to work extra rest days at £30 per hour. One extra day a month could earn you £3,000 more per year on top of your base salary. Two extra days could give you an extra £5,000.
