Job DescriptionThe Associate Technician NOC is responsible for monitoring Verizon Wireless’ switching network environmental alarms from a centralized Network Operations Center (NOC) ensuring high availability and attainment of service levels.
The Associate Technician – NOC will learn and apply new technical skills to support the interdepartmental objectives including:
- effectively communicating and escalating alarms ensuring quick resolution; utilizing a network management system via computer terminals to detect environmental alarms.
- completing trouble tickets to document alarms; and answering incoming telephone calls to the NOC.
- Minimum Associate’s degree, two-year technical degree, relevant military experience, equivalent special electronics training, or equivalent work experience is required.
- Minimum 0-1 years’ experience in cellular plus electronics training. Telecommunications alarming in a NOC environment is a plus.
- Basic training and/or coursework in at least 2 of the following areas:
- data communications, digital communications, operating systems and applications, telecommunications, computer support, project management, and/or power.
- Knowledge of Windows, Word, Outlook, and Notepad is required. Demonstrated telephone, communications, and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to follow established guidelines, policies, and procedures is required.
