* Key Responsibilities:

*** Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and cash management.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP for nonprofit organizations.
* Ensure timely month-end and year-end close processes.
* Maintain and monitor fund accounting and donor-restricted funds.
* Develop and maintain compliance with internal financial controls and company policies.
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including IRS nonprofit requirements.
* Oversee accounting systems and chart of accounts.
* Ensure proper documentation and record retention.
* Assist in the annual budgeting process and ongoing budget monitoring.
* Manage, mentor, and develop the staff on your team (4 staff members). Foster a culture of accountability, service, and collaboration within the finance team and organization.
* Communicate and analyze variances and trends.
* Lead annual audit and year end process.
* Oversee 1099 and contribution statement distribution.

* Qualifications:

*** Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
* CPA preferred (or strong progress toward certification)
* Minimum 3-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including management experience
* Experience with nonprofit or church accounting strongly preferred
* Strong understanding of GAAP, nonprofit accounting, and fund accounting
* Experience leading audits and working with external auditors
* Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems
