Are you passionate about financial analytics, data‑driven decision‑making, and supporting rapid growth in the healthcare space? Hum Cap’s client in Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX, is seeking a results‑oriented leader to join a fast‑growing, national healthcare practice management organization known for its strong culture, mission‑driven mindset, and collaborative approach.
Role Summary & Goal
Provide financial rigor and project management oversight for the organization’s ~$60M annual capital expenditure (Cap Ex) budget across 270 locations nationwide. You’ll drive investment discipline, portfolio transparency, and on‑time, on‑budget delivery of capital projects that expand access and elevate patient and clinician experience.
What You’ll Do
- Own Cap Ex portfolio governance: Orchestrate intake, prioritization, and approval workflows for all capital requests; ensure alignment with strategic, clinical, and financial objectives.
- Build investment cases: Develop and pressure‑test business cases using DCF, payback periods, IRR, and sensitivity/scenario analyses; translate results into clear go/no‑go recommendations.
- Measure & explain performance: Lead budgeting and variance analysis at project and portfolio levels (e.g., explain why a renovation went $50K over and prescribe corrective actions).
- Run the operating cadence: Create a single‑source‑of‑truth dashboard on portfolio status (scope, schedule, budget, risks) and deliver crisp weekly and monthly executive updates.
- Program manage at scale: Track 50+ concurrent projects across time zones; proactively manage dependencies, milestones, and change orders in Smart Sheet, , or MS Project.
- Partner cross‑functionally: Work directly with clinic managers, facilities, contractors, finance, procurement, and IT to convert financial insights into executable project plans.
- Continuously improve: Standardize templates (business case, cash flow, post‑mortems), enhance controls, and streamline approval cycle times to accelerate growth with discipline.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience (3–4 years): Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Management Consulting, or Healthcare Project Management.
- The “work” history: Completed a rigorous Analyst program at a large institution; equally comfortable building complex Excel models and communicating with clinic managers and contractors.
- Education: Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Key Technical Skills
- Advanced financial modeling: DCF, payback, IRR; multi‑scenario cash‑flow modeling and sensitivity analysis.
- Project management tools: Smart Sheet, , or MS Project for portfolio tracking, workflows, and reporting.
- Budgeting & variance analysis: Root‑cause analysis and storytelling that connects numbers to operational realities (e.g., explaining a $50K overrun clearly and action ably).
- Excel & BI: Strong Excel (index/match, pivot, Power Query/Power Pivot a plus) and familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau preferred).
