Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Southlake, Texas. This is a long-term contract position that will initially provide maternity leave coverage and requires a candidate with strong expertise in accrual accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. The ideal applicant will play a crucial role in maintaining accuracy and efficiency across accounting operations while collaborating in a structured environment.

Responsibilities:

- Facilitate month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

- Prepare and record revenue accruals within a structured close cycle.

- Generate detailed client reports based on booked revenue data.

- Create and issue expense invoices to clients with precision.

- Conduct financial analyses and maintain accurate accrual records.

- Ensure all financial reporting meets high standards of accuracy and compliance.

- Utilize advanced Excel functions, such as Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and SUMIFs, to manage and analyze data.

- Process accounting entries and generate reports using Dynamics GP software.

- Collaborate with the team during a 1-2 week onsite training period and maintain consistent productivity.

- Provide support for tax-related tasks, including sales tax and corporate tax return preparation. Requirements - Proven experience in accrual accounting and month-end financial close processes.

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and invoice preparation.

- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including the ability to work with formulas, Pivot Tables, and other functions.

- Familiarity with Dynamics GP for accounting entries and report generation.

- Strong understanding of corporate tax, sales tax, and journal entries.

- Ability to manage general ledger activities effectively.

- Excellent organizational and analytical skills to support structured accounting operations.

- Availability to work onsite during training and maintain an onsite presence on designated days.
