Responsibilities
  • Supervise the overall facility operations, including security systems, mechanical systems, and safety protocols.
  • Partner with regional and national stakeholders with Quest Diagnostics and Corewell Health to ensure alignment of approach and problem resolution as needed.
  • Partners with regional and Quest Corporate Real Estate to oversee lease renewals and terminations.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring timely procurement of supplies, equipment maintenance, and repairs.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security measures to safeguard laboratory assets and sensitive information.
  • Coordinate with external service providers for the upkeep of mechanical systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, and laboratory equipment.
  • Assist with establishing emergency contact procedures for unscheduled system interruptions or equipment malfunctions.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and address any potential safety hazards or maintenance issues.
  • Work closely with the laboratory management team to optimize facility layouts and workflows for operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with finance to develop and manage the laboratory facilities budget, optimizing resource allocation for maximum efficiency.
  • Oversee the development, planning, and implementation of environmental, health and safety policies.
  • Lead or assist with waste management and removal operations.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environmental safety and handles all contact with appropriate agencies.
  • Establishes goals and priorities to ensure compliance with all regulatory and company safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Partners with DLM leadership to promote effective EHS practices and ensure support for EHS initiatives, providing guidance to DLM leadership as appropriate.
Qualifications Required

Work Experience:

  • Previous experience managing laboratory facilities.
Preferred Work Experience
  • Prior experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory setting.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and technology.
Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, or a related field.
