Reports to DOT at 1859 Quarry Rd., Riverview, MI. This role requires local travel to facilities in Oakland, Macomb, Wayne, and Washtenaw counties, within 30 miles of your home.
Schedule: Full Time – Monday to Friday.
Compensation: Earn up to $35/hr.
General SummaryProvides physical therapy treatment to patients according to the established treatment plan under the supervision of the Physical Therapist. Contributes to the development, implementation, and progression of patient treatment and modifies treatment as necessary. Participates in patient care conferences and program development. Completes appropriate documentation and adheres to policies, procedures and current standards of clinical practice.
Role Summary- Provides physical therapy treatments consistent with A.P.T.A. professional and ethical standards for PTAs.
- Documents to maintain quality of the medical record for accuracy, continuity of care, and reimbursement guidelines.
- Coordinates with other disciplines for effective total patient care.
- Assures delivery of quality care.
- Participates in discharge planning to ensure continued patient care and provides patient/family instruction.
- Maintains clinical expertise through continuing education.
- Contributes to a team philosophy within the department and company, promoting it among staff.
- Delegates work assignments, responsibilities, and patient duties to support staff as needed.
- Supervises students and volunteers.
- Represents the Physical Therapy Department to family, visitors, and personnel and attends care conferences as requested.
- Effectively communicates with department staff, company personnel, patients and families; and with department head.
- Secures equipment for patients and department supplies as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Successful completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Licensure as required by the State of Michigan.
- Ability to exercise professional judgment and initiative when analyzing problems and recommending solutions.
- Initiative and flexibility in the work environment.
- Ability to react effectively to the needs of patients and their families.
- Physical ability to bend, position, transfer, and lift patients weighing from 80 to over 300 pounds without restriction, using clinically recommended lifting devices.
