Intake Clinician - Family Services | Part‑Time

Easterseals MORC is hiring for an Intake Clinician - Family Services to help make a difference and become part of something bigger than yourself!

Qualifications
  • Possess a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Social Work or Counseling; AND have an LLMSW, LMSW, or LPC from the State of Michigan
  • Must meet qualifications of a Mental Health Professional (MHP) per the Michigan PIHP/CMHSP Provider Qualification per Medicaid Services
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Screen for co‑occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Implement integrated strength‑based assessment interviews to assess the presence, onset, symptoms and patterns of substance use, behavioral and psychiatric disorders.
  • Assess for acute needs and risk and provide/arrange for appropriate stage‑wise intervention. In the presence of two disorders, evaluation will be made of the interaction between the two, as well as the relationship of each to significant life events. Demonstrate the knowledge of diagnostic criteria for psychiatric and substance use disorders.
  • Conduct initial assessments to determine appropriate level of care based on contract criteria. Analyze clinical histories for diagnostic purposes, and develop preliminary individualized treatment plans and complete initial authorizations for individuals that include recommendations for appropriate community‑based services.
  • Obtain information from a variety of sources to develop a clinical history. Record the treatment plan, progress and other significant information regarding the individuals for agency case records.
  • Develop preliminary treatment plans for SA, MH and COD that are individualized and person‑centered and reflect proper treatment matching. Specific goals, objectives and stage/phase specific treatment interventions are identified for each assessed need. If deferred, the reason for doing so is identified. Community resources and supports are prioritized as a strategy to assist individuals with meeting their needs.
Hours & Location

Monday–Friday afternoon shifts, generally between 1:00 PM–5:00 PM, based out of both Auburn Hills and Southfield, with some flexibility as needs evolve.
