General

Summary:

You will provide physical therapy services to patients with physical dysfunction, including assessment, treatment planning and implementation. You will participate in patient care conferences, program development, screenings, and supervise PTAs and aides. You will complete documentation and adhere to policies, procedures, and clinical standards.

• Conduct physical therapy screenings and evaluations to determine patient physical status.
• Provide treatment consistent with APTA standards.
• Develop and implement treatment plans using strengthening, modalities, and retraining.
• Provide direct patient care in accordance with productivity standards.
• Check, instruct, assign and review work of PTAs and aides.
• Maintain documentation quality for medical record accuracy, continuity and reimbursement guidelines.
• Participate in patient care conferences and CQI activities.
• Promote clinical practice standards through continuing education and in‑service programs.
• Coordinate or participate in in‑service programs for internal/external groups.
• Participate in new program development, company meetings, and activities to facilitate departmental operations.

• Successful completion of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Licensure required by the State of Michigan.

• Exercise professional judgment and initiative in problem analysis.
• Initiative and flexibility in the work environment.
• React effectively to patient and family needs.
• Physical ability to bend, transfer and lift patients weighing 80 to over 300 pounds without restriction, using clinically recommended lifting devices.
