JOB SUMMARY
Under limited supervision, this role leads and supports inventory ‑related accounting activities, including month‑end close analysis, inventory reporting, reserve calculations, and physical inventory processes. The position plays a key role in the financial close by preparing and reviewing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and partnering with cross‑functional teams and affiliates to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls. In addition, the role supports intercompany accounting activities and contributes to continuous process improvement initiatives, including JSOX‑related compliance efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform advanced accounting functions including monthly account reconciliations, monitoring and analysis of accruals, and preparation of journal entries to ensure accurate financial statements.
Perform inventory accounting activities, including month-end inventory analysis and reporting, as well as support for freight, insurance, and duty allocations.
Support annual physical inventory processes by coordinating with cross-functional teams, reviewing final inventory results, and obtaining required management approvals.
Support month-end close process activities, as well as quarterly and annual year-end close and reporting requirements to the parent company, including coordination with external auditors.
Prepare standard and complex journal entries, including inventory adjustments, obsolete inventory reserves, commissions, intercompany transactions, and other recurring or ad hoc entries
Monitor balance sheet accounts to identify potential future profits and loss impacts and resolve variances in a timely manner.
Ensures internal controls operate effectively with the goal of maintaining zero deficiencies
Perform financial analysis and assist with financial reporting to ensure transactions are properlyrecorded and financial statements are accurate and complete.
Manage intercompany balances for assigned affiliates, including performing complex intercompany account reconciliations and addressing discrepancies.
Assists with process improvement activities.
Act as a liaison between internal departments and other DENSO locations in order to research, communicate, and resolve outstanding issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ Years of experience in accounting
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, or a related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (preferred)
Inventory accounting experience, including valuation, reserves, physical counts, and related journal entries. (preferred)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong written and verbal communication skills to discuss or transmit primarilyfactual information to internal and external customers in the normal course of performing duties
Strong analytical skills to investigate, interpret, and reconcile information from several distinct sources in situations where conclusions or resolutions are discernible
Customer service skills to display a service-oriented attitude in addressing and responding to questions or issues
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
Advanced knowledge of accounting principles under IFRS and U.S. GAAP
Advanced knowledge of financial systems and software (Oracle EPM experience a plus)
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork
Demonstrated ability to adapt to and effectively manage change.
Kaizen mindset with the ability to apply the PDCA (Plan‑Do‑Check‑Act
Must also possess an understanding of current accounting operational structure (financial close, gross profit, J-SOX, etc.)

Annual Salary: $90,000 - $113,000
