Position OverviewThis is a perfect position for a Project Manager with experience in managing complex capital equipment projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for driving cost control, quality, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction. Additionally, the Project Manager will be the primary point of contact and own the project from cradle-to-grave.
Essential Functions- Execute projects in accordance with Durr's project management processes and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to the schedule throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work towards reducing costs and expenses where possible, without sacrificing safety, quality or schedule.
- Manage project risks and opportunities.
- Perform equipment sizing calculations and develop specifications for purchased components.
- Direct mechanical design resources to complete project drawing package.
- Develop scopes of work for equipment installation and manage completion of the install using third party contractors.
- Oversee equipment commissioning performed by Durr Service Technicians.
- Through personal example and leadership, maintains Durr's reputation for outstanding customer support and project quality.
- Lead project status review meetings with the project team, business line leaders, and the customer.
- Support and enforce all company safety, quality and ethics policies and procedures.
- B.S. degree in Technical/Engineering or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering fields or 5 years of experience in Project Management of industrial equipment manufacturing.
- Ability to understand contract language and customer specifications.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to perform at a high level within a team environment.
- High level of mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrates flexibility and capability of handling multiple projects and changing priorities.
- Superior analytical, problem solving, and computer skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including proficient technical writing skills
- A team oriented, self-starting individual capable of working with little supervision
- Excellent problem-solving skills and root cause analysis tools
- Ability to communicate to a broad range of audiences and technical disciplines in a clear and understandable manner
- Strong organizational and project management skills with a commitment to quality
- Able to train and work in a team environment, actively encourages, and engages others and seeks inputs and ideas
- This position requires the ability to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
- Consistently operates a computer and other office equipment such as a copy machine, computer printer, calculator, etc.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the workday
- Ability to frequently communicate, verbally and or written with employees, management, vendors, and customers
- This position may occasionally require manufacturing plant visits to review and inspect work in various stages of manufacturing and assembly
- Will require occasional travel to customer sites for meetings and equipment evaluation.
