REGIONAL ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST II SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN - LEAR WORLD HEADQUARTERS
As a member of the Corporate Accounting team, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for leading the global intercompany accounting process; preparing journal entries and performing balance sheet account reconciliations; leading government financial reporting process; and preparing analytical reports as needed.
The RoleYour work will include, but not be limited to:
- Performing monthly intercompany invoicing using Lear's intercompany invoicing system, facilitate payment of balances, reconcile balances with corresponding intercompany locations, and assist with dispute resolution during close.
- Building a good working relationship with global finance and accounting teams related to intercompany related items.
- Preparing balance sheet general ledger account reconciliations using various accounting systems.
- Assisting Managers of Corporate Accounting with recording standard and non-standard journal entries on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Tracking, preparing, and filing various monthly and quarterly government financial reports.
- Developing ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by management.
- Interfacing with Lear's accounting and finance team in the Philippines on a consistent basis related to month-end close activities.
- The Corporate Accounting team is a perfect area for anyone who is looking to get overall exposure to Lear's global accounting and finance processes.
- Continuous exposure to senior management like Chief Accounting Officer or VP of Accounting, and working with cross functional teams including Treasury, FP&A, and Tax.
- Build long lasting relationship with various accounting and finance teams globally.
- Get to learn leadership, resiliency, and communication skills directly from peers.
- Get exposure to forecast, budget, consolidations processes and many accounting systems like SAP, HFM, Coupa, People Soft, etc.
- Require 1-3 years of work experience in field of accounting or finance.
- Requires Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- Ability to interface across all organization levels within the world headquarters and all plants globally.
- Ability to show resilience in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to take ownership of the processes from start to finish.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Exposure to various accounting ERP systems like SAP, HFM (Hyperion), People Soft AP.
- Previous automotive experience
- CPA/MBA or working towards it
