Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant

What You Will Be Doing- Assisting in the development and maintenance of corporate accounting policies and procedures
- Maintaining oversight of business unit compliance with corporate accounting policies and initiatives
- Analyzing accounting issues and transactions, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and business combinations, and determining appropriate accounting treatment
- Supporting the financial reporting process by preparing and reviewing financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures
- Providing technical accounting guidance for significant transactions such as business combinations, debt refinancing, and equity-based compensation
- Assisting in the design, implementation, and testing of internal controls, including oversight of the internal audit function
- Supporting external auditors by providing documentation, explanations, and analysis
- Reviewing business unit reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Performing various other assigned accounting and finance tasks as needed
- Managing a team with 2 direct reports (Senior Accountant and AP/AR Supervisor) and 4 indirect reports
To be considered for this role, candidates must have the following experience and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required; candidates without this degree will not be considered)
- 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (US GAAP, IFRS, etc.)
- Strong experience in AP/AR, reporting, balance sheet oversight, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Experience working with manufacturing/automotive clients (required; backgrounds in real estate, non-profit, or government are not a fit)
- CPA certification (highly preferred)
- Public accounting experience or a background coming from public (preferred but not required)
