Penick Village Inc. Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) is seeking a compassionate, professional and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our clinical team. Our RN’s serve as a charge nurse role, leading the shift in providing nurturing direct care for the health of our residents.

Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Direct the day-to-day functions of the CNAs and Medication Technicians in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
  • Ensure that the written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department are followed by all nursing personnel assigned.
  • Cooperate with other resident services when coordinating nursing services to ensure that the resident’s total regimen of care is maintained.
  • Ensure that the nursing personnel under your direction are following their respective job descriptions.
  • Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, studies, charting, etc. as necessary.
  • Participate in the facility’s quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
  • Participate in the updating of the resident’s written discharge plan as required.
  • Assist in planning the nursing services portion of the resident’s discharge plan as necessary.
  • Participate in surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift as required.
  • Periodically review the department’s policy & procedure manuals and make recommendations for revisions.
  • Meet with your assigned nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the shift’s services, programs and activities.
  • Interpret the department’s policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors, and government agencies as required.
  • Assist with admission, transfer and discharge of residents as required.
  • Maintain the Daily Census Report and submit to the Business Office as required.
  • Perform charting and documentation according to facility policy and procedure manual.
  • Prepare, administer and document medication as ordered by physician and according to facility policy and procedure manual.
  • Function as an Assistant Responder for Independent Living residents.
Education
  • Current license as an RN in the state of North Carolina
  • CPR Certification
