Southend City Council is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join its Assessment & Intervention Team, supporting children and families through high-quality, child-focused statutory practice aligned with the council’s restorative model.

• Salary range of £39,152 – £45,091 per annum
• Permanent, full-time position
• Hybrid working arrangement with a minimum of two days per week on site
• 25 days annual leave

• Assess and support children and families to safeguard and promote welfare
• Complete timely assessments, plans and risk assessments in line with statutory duties
• Manage cases across CIN, CP, CLA and Section 47 processes
• Contribute to duty arrangements to ensure effective case management
• Work collaboratively with families and partner agencies

• Recognised social work qualification
• Registration with Social Work England
• Completion of ASYE
• Experience with in children’s frontline statutory services
• Strong knowledge of child protection, CIN and looked after children processes
• Ability to analyse risk and determine appropriate interventions
• Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle
