Deputy Manager – Jollyes Pets – Southend
Salary £26,000 - £27,000 p.a. + bonus potential of £1-5k p.a.
OverviewJollyes is looking for a talented individual to be the Deputy Manager in our Southend store. Responsibilities- Supporting the Store Manager in daily operations, team management, store standards, stock management, and delivering excellent customer service to pet parents.
- Take full responsibility for all aspects of running a successful store in the Store Manager’s absence, including managing people, financial performance and store standards.
- Lead by example to create an exceptional culture and work environment, demonstrating values of being Genuine, Wise, Eager, Focused, Together.
- Ensure the team delivers outstanding customer service and displays strong pet and product knowledge (training provided).
- Deliver the highest standards of pet care and prioritise the welfare of pets, promoting responsible pet ownership.
- Passion for pets and people, delighting customers with an unrivaled shopping experience.
- Previous retail management experience, deputising for the Store Manager and managing daily business operations.
- Team player with excellent communication skills and experience building high‑performing, engaged teams.
- Track record of developing business performance and exceeding KPIs while maintaining high store standards, health & safety and legal compliance.
- Commercially aware with proactive planning and organisation skills.
- Own transport and UK driving licence – required for occasional out‑of‑hours work or covering other stores in the region.
- Full‑time, permanent position – 40 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7.
Competitive salary £26,000 - £27,000 p.a., plus annual bonus potential of £1‑5k p.a. (subject to reaching pre‑agreed measures).
