Deputy Team Leader - Urology Theatres

Here is an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Deputy Team Leader - Urology Theatres.
You will deputise for delegated tasks as deemed appropriate by the Team Leader, undertake Floor person / Theatre Co‑ordinator role as required, and assist in maintaining patient and environmental standards within theatres to ensure the safety of patients, staff and visitors. You will also participate in practical and theoretical training of theatre staff and learners, maintain a learning environment by encouraging inquiry, and evaluate new methods of practice in relation to patient care and equipment with the Team Leader.
You are expected to have good working knowledge of Urology Laser and experience in major Urology open cases and Urology Robotic Surgery.

Main duties of the job- Deputise for Team Leader in their absence.
- Assist the Team Leader in the management of the speciality.
- Deputise for delegated tasks as deemed appropriate by the Team Leader.
- Ensure efficient running of the speciality in the absence of the Team Leader.
- Maintain high standards of clinical care, ensuring that all actions are carried out with full regard for safety of patients and staff involved.

Job responsibilitiesStrong professional leadership qualities are required at this level. It is critical to the quality of care and staff morale. To organise and lead an operating session competently demonstrating excellent communication skills. Ability to work autonomously in satellite areas. Undertake Floor person / Theatre Co‑ordinator role as required.

Person specification- NMC Registered Nurse / HCPC Registered ODP
- Experience of mentoring students
- Managerial courses
- Significant experience at Band 5 level in Theatres
- Significant experience in Urology Major Open cases
- Sound working knowledge of Urology Laser Machine
- Significant experience in Urology Robotic Surgery
- Experience in Change Management
