Production Manager - Aerospace Manufacturing

Southend-on-Sea 40,000 - 45,000 Monday - Thursday

An established aerospace manufacturer in Southend-on-Sea is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead shop floor operations and drive performance across manufacturing. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone with strong aerospace machining knowledge and proven people management experience.

Reporting to the General Manager, you'll take ownership of production planning, team leadership, and operational efficiency, ensuring quality, delivery, and productivity targets are consistently achieved.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Leading and managing the production team on the shop floor
• Planning workloads, job running, and production priorities
• Overseeing CNC machining operations (sliding and fixed head, Fanuc controls)
• Driving right-first-time quality and continuous improvement
• Monitoring KPIs including on-time delivery, quality, and efficiency
• Managing attendance, holidays, training, and performance
• Coordinating maintenance, tooling, and shop floor readiness
• Ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards and health & safety

What We're Looking For

• Experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or Senior Supervisor
• Strong aerospace or precision engineering background
• Hands-on CNC machining experience (sliding and fixed head)
• Confident leading, motivating, and developing production teams
• Organised, delivery-focused, and commercially aware
