Position: Team Manager, Adoption Team on-Sea - Sanctuary Personal

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Team Manager within the Adoption Team to work Full Time based in Southend.

The salary for this permanent Team Manager job is up to £58,959 per annum.

  • To ensure the Council provides a first-class professional service within the Specialist Services by being responsible for the efficient and cost-effective provision of needs-led services to children, young people and their families.
  • Managing a team of Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, Children & Families Workers, Administrative Staff and Foster Carers.
  • To manage a team, to be responsible for the provision of services to children and young people, ensuring that services are delivered to a high-standard and any child protection concerns are responded to appropriately.
  • To manage the operation of an effective referral and allocation system, ensuring that all relevant documentation is available and current for Children Looked After by Foster Carers and children in adoptive placements.
  • To implement service strategy and performance and ensure its contribution to the Councils objectives.
  • To provide formal, professional supervision to staff, ensuring that staff supervision and appraisals are undertaken, identifying skills gasps or training needs, that can be addressed either in house or via external training.
  • To ensure that the policies and procedures are adhered to and that the Council fully complies with its statutory requirements. e.g. The National Minimum Standards and Regulations for Fostering & Adoption.
  • Monitor performance, standards and quality of work to ensure that the Council complies with policy, procedures and professional standards. Constantly review the performance of the team to ensure that the Council embeds a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that the Fostering & Adoption Services contribute to and monitor care plans for individuals looked after or in need of protection. Where appropriate, actively manging the most complex and demanding cases. Liaising with other agencies and organisations, collating and analysing information and identifying the most appropriate action.
  • To ensure the recruitment, assessment, training and supervision of a team of foster carers and adopters which meets the diverse care needs of children.
  • Actively manage complaints and refer to appropriate level if unable to resolve.
  • Provide information, reports and analysis as and when required.
  • To act as a member of the Group Management Team, attending meetings and contributing to decision/policy making.
  • Deputise for the Head of Service as and when required.

Requirements for this Team Manager role:

  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
