Overview

Are you looking for a dietetic position that will enable you to start or progress your career journey? An opportunity has arisen at Southend University Hospital, whereby you would work alongside two full time Band 5 dietitians to support delivery of dietetic services to the inpatient wards, outpatient general clinics and delivery of staff training. There is also the opportunity to help support the outpatient oncology service, which will help develop both clinical and counselling skills.

You will also be supported from the Band 6 and Band 7 dietitians from the adult team. We are a proactive dietetic team that strive for continual improvement. There will be the opportunity for you be involved with projects, audits and service developments. You will also be involved in the delivery of student training. Note: Please note we are unable to sponsor this role due to the length of contract. Our band 5 roles at Southend Hospital offer an excellent range of clinical experience working alongside specialist dietitians who are available to provide support and training to support your development.

Responsibilities
  • Managing a specific caseload of outpatients and inpatients.
  • Providing nutrition training to ward staff and patients.
  • Managing your workload and own time effectively with regards to clinical priority.
  • Supervision and management of student dietitians in order to be a part of developing the future of dietetics.
  • Involvement in delivering dietetic services to inpatient wards, outpatient general clinics and delivery of staff training.
  • Opportunity to support the outpatient oncology service to develop clinical and counselling skills.
  • Delivery of student training.
