The Role

As a Functional Assessor, you'll use your clinical expertise to assess how health conditions impact people's daily lives and ability to work. It's a role that blends medical knowledge with meaningful human connection - giving you the chance to support individuals while contributing to a fair and compassionate benefits system.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out assessments both face-to-face and via video or phone, taking detailed medical histories and conducting physical examinations.
  • Your findings will help inform accurate, high-quality reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
  • Work independently, while also being part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team that values collaboration and continuous learning.

About You
  • A registered Nurse, Learning Disability Nurse or Mental health Nurse with at least 12 months' post-registration UK experience
  • Confident in clinical decision-making, with a strong understanding of functional assessment
  • Skilled communicator, able to build trust and ask the right questions
  • Digitally capable, with experience using clinical software and systems
  • Self-motivated and organised, with a focus on quality and integrity
  • Team-oriented, ready to support colleagues and contribute to a positive working culture
