Job Description
Support Worker – Southend on SeaSalary: £12.65 per hour / £23,023 per annum based on 35 hours, £500 Joining Bonus. A full UK Driver’s Licence is required.
Working hours:
35 per week.
Nexus Support Limited is a specialist provider working alongside people with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Complex Needs aged between 16 and 45 and their families in the South Essex area, covering Basildon, Castle Point, Chelmsford, Southend. Days are spent supporting people to live a meaningful life. We provide opportunities to grow, develop new skills and explore and enjoy new and established interests and experiences, including swimming, exercising, Health & Beauty and any preferred activities within community settings and n not out and about, staff are on hand for chats and advice to help during challenging times.
You must be available to work for a minimum of two shifts per week, supporting the person at home and within the community. Shift patterns include early, late, sleep‑in and alternate weekends.
Responsibilities- Build positive relationships by listening, discussing and planning goals with individuals.
- Plan daily tasks and assist with practical activities such as cooking, cleaning and running errands.
- Assist with personal care, including eating and administering medication.
- Plan and participate in any days out the individual wishes to enjoy.
- Support individuals to become more independent wherever possible.
- Caring attitude with passion for supporting others and motivation to help them achieve goals.
- Team player, able to work effectively with other colleagues.
- Resilience to keep going at difficult times and confidence to ask for help if needed.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
