Support Worker - Southend
Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Southend. The contracts available are part-time permanent.
OverviewAs a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. You will be supporting three gentlemen with varying needs who share their home. Some experience of dementia is preferable; you must be patient, empathetic with a sense of humour, and fun.
Your role is to support people to live as independently as possible and to enjoy a great life.
- Support and care for individuals with learning disabilities.
- Assist with daily living activities and independence goals.
- Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships.
- Collaborate with the team on care plans.
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
- Some experience of dementia is preferable.
- Must be patient, empathetic, have a sense of humour and fun.
- All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
- Part time – 35 hours per week (permanent).
All our services are 24-hour care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
- Days:
Between 07:00-22:00 (varying shifts).
