We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and child‑centred Part‑Time SENCO to join our supportive and forward‑thinking school team and work alongside another SENCO. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and coordinating provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Leading the strategic development of SEND provision across the school
- Coordinating and overseeing support for pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties, SEMH, and physical needs
- Working closely with teachers to ensure high‑quality, inclusive classroom practice
- Managing and updating SEND records, provision maps, and EHCP documentation
- Carrying out assessments, observations, and monitoring of pupil progress
- Liaising with external agencies, including Educational Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists, and specialist services
- Supporting staff through training, guidance, and modelling effective strategies
- Meeting with parents and carers to discuss progress, concerns, and next steps
- Ensuring statutory responsibilities are met in line with the SEND Code of Practice
- Contributing to whole‑school safeguarding and inclusion practices
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to work towards it
- Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
- Experience supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs
- Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills
