A welcoming primary school in Southend is seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join their team on a part-time basis to cover maternity leave.

Contract:
Temporary (Maternity Cover - until at least the end of the Summer Term)
Working Pattern: 3 days per week
Role OverviewThe successful candidate will work alongside the school's existing SENCo, who is in school 4.5 days per week, to ensure high-quality provision and support for pupils with additional needs. You will play a key role in coordinating SEN provision, supporting staff, and working closely with families and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage SEN provision across the school
- Support pupils with EHCPs and additional needs
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals
- Contribute to SEN reviews, assessments, and reports
- Ensure compliance with SEND policies and statutory guidance
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- SENCo qualification (or working towards)
- Experience in a primary school SENCo role
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
