SENCo; Primary School Temporary, Part Time

Position: SENCo (Primary School) (Contract, Temporary, Part Time)
A welcoming primary school in Southend is seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join their team on a part-time basis to cover maternity leave.

Start Date:

As soon as possible

Contract:

Temporary (Maternity Cover – until at least the end of the Summer Term)
Working Pattern: 3 days per week

Role Overview

The successful candidate will work alongside the school’s existing SENCo, who is in school 4.5 days per week, to ensure high-quality provision and support for pupils with additional needs.

You will play a key role in coordinating SEN provision, supporting staff, and working closely with families and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage SEN provision across the school

* Support pupils with EHCPs and additional needs

* Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams

* Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals

* Contribute to SEN reviews, assessments, and reports

* Ensure compliance with SEND policies and statutory guidance

Key Requirements

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

* SENCo qualification (or working towards)

* Experience in a primary school SENCo role

* Strong organisational and communication skills

* Ability to work collaboratively within a team

* Commitment to inclusive education
