Are you passionate about empowering parents and improving outcomes for families?
Join us as Family Practitioner and help deliver tailored parenting support, 1:1 and group-based programmes to families with children aged 10 and above — especially those affected by anxiety, emotional distress, or school-related challenges.
- Hours: To be agreed, 16-18 hours per week, with one later start/finish per week
- Contract: Fixed term until November 2026
- Be the lead facilitator on group-based programmes, parenting education, emotional support, and child development
- Provide cover for the triage service (occasionally)
- Provide 121 support to parents/carers
- Working with partners to tackle barriers faced by families and barriers in accessing appropriate services
- To lead planning of sessions for groups and education classes
- To be familiar with the security procedures of venues (e.g. evacuation procedures and risk assessment) and maintain a high level of safety during the sessional delivery.
- To keep updated on local service provision to best support families
- To identify parents and or children who may benefit from additional support and signpost as appropriate.
- Keep and maintain high quality, accurate records and produce reports and impact statements as required
- To be fully compliant with the GDPR.
- To comply with all organisational policies
- To attend supervision, team meetings and training sessions
- Sound understanding of safeguarding procedures.
- Proven experience in working with families, especially those facing disadvantage or vulnerability.
- Experience providing 121 support to families with children age 10 and/or above or delivering evidence-based parenting programmes to families with children age 10 or above
- Good understanding of the social, emotional and development needs of children
- Experience of recording, monitoring data and retrieving information
- Significant experience in facilitating and/or delivering group-based parenting programmes
- Educated to degree level in a relevant field, or evidence of recent and continuing professional development in relation to child development and/or family support practice.
- Level 1 Safeguarding.
- Evident awareness of Early Help, Team Around the Child process and Children Social Care processes.
- Recent completion of a parenting course programme (for facilitating to parent/carers)
- Domestic abuse awareness certificate.
- Ability to work with parents and to encourage their involvement.
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- Good IT skills including use of Microsoft Word, Office, internet and email
- Commitment to continuing professional development
- Ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds, and strong communication skills to remove any barriers to access.
To be agreed, but must include one late finish (7pm), occasional Saturdays
Additional- Full, clean driver's license and access to a vehicle is essential
- This role includes one late start/finish per week and occasional Saturday work
- 26 days annual leave (pro-rata)
- 1 day for birthday leave (FTE)
- 1 additional day in December (FTE) (for business close down)
- Pension scheme (3% employer contribution, 5% employee contribution)
