Salary: £39,152 – £45,091 D.O.E

Southend-on-Sea City Council is seeking a Social Worker to join the Family Support & Protection Team.
Key Responsibilities- Managing a caseload of approximately 12 children and young people requiring long-term social work intervention.
- Working with children subject to child protection plans, complex child in need cases and Pre-Proceedings/PLO cases.
- Acting as the duty worker, responding to queries and issues across the team's caseload.
- Preparing reports, statements and care plans for Family, County and High Courts.
- Conducting thorough assessments and analyses to produce clear, evidence-based action plans.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with children and families to improve outcomes.
- Engaging in structured supervision, professional development and team-led initiatives.
Hybrid working is available, with a requirement to be on-site at the Civic Centre at least 2 days per week.
Person Specification- Hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
- Have completed their ASYE.
- Possess experience in Children's Frontline Services, including child protection, looked after children and child in need practice.
- Demonstrate knowledge and application of Restorative Practice in social work.
- Have a sound understanding of relevant legislation, guidance and policy frameworks.
- Hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
