Your new roleSouthend's Commissioning Directorate is looking to appoint a full‑time Quality Support Officer in a fixed‑term capacity until November 2026. The Quality and Improvement Team is responsible for ensuring that all providers deliver care services to looked‑after children and young adults in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and the Children Act 1989 to 2014. These quality checks are completed before children are placed and then continue to be monitored to improve the quality of care being delivered to children looked after by the council.
The new Officer will provide administrative support for the quality team and support the improvement of the quality of care and support experienced by the residents of Southend City.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the inspection of services and the PAMMS validation process;
- Taking accurate minutes for internal and external meetings;
- Complying with data and information requirements to produce accurate reports;
- Monitoring service emails, processing service invoices, booking venues for events and meetings, and liaising with internal and external colleagues;
- Hybrid working is available; you are required to be on‑site at the Civic Centre a minimum of two days a week.
To be shortlisted you must have:
- GSCEs in Maths and English;
- Experience as an advanced administrator within the health and social care sector;
- Experience of collecting and collating information, working with finances and taking notes during meetings and acting upon them;
- Strong IT literacy skills, particularly in Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
- Ability to analyse, interpret and assess data and produce clear reports.
There will be Excel and Word testing at the interview stage.
