Fabricator, Manufacturing ​/ Production

Overview

Position Summary The Fabricator is responsible for assisting and providing general labor to production to aid in the manufacturing of MEI products.

• Prepare material for the next process step. This includes deburring plastic, drilling and tapping holes, straightening tubing, and cutting material to length.
• Prepare all parts and sub-assemblies for work to be accomplished using assembly instructions, blueprints, and parts lists.
• Assemble by measuring for the proper location and fastening parts to assemblies.
• Assist the CNC operator in loading and unloading material on the router table.
• Keep manufacturing free of debris and dirt by sweeping, collecting trash, and sorting recycling.
• Assist the materials group with the kitting of project parts when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ general labor experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Good understanding of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words; and correct grammatical structure.
• Able to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints.
• Ability to use multiple types of hand tools.
• Able to follow verbal and written work instructions.
• Ability to effectively understand and operate within safety guidelines and policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to climb, stand, walk, sit; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; push, pull, or operate equipment; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The Fabricator is subject to possible exposure to extreme year-round outdoor environmental conditions and may also be subject to working weekends and holidays.
