Surfacing Operator, 3rd Shift

Our Business Unit Lighting and Imaging offers challenging lighting and image transmission solutions for applications in the markets of automotive, aviation, medical devices, as well as industrial and safety engineering. With production units in Europe, North‑America and the worldwide SCHOTT sales organization, Lighting and Imaging is a leading supplier for fiber optic components.

• Operate a variety of cutting, generating, grinding, polishing and cleaning equipment and perform related job functions.
• Operate one or more equipment according to written process specifications and production standards.
• Perform in‑process visual and mechanical inspections; initiate corrective action or inform Group Leader or Supervisor of deviations from standards.
• Perform TPM on required equipment and update sheets as necessary.
• Perform setups, start‑ups/shut‑downs and make adjustments to machines.
• Complete labor sheets, routers, log sheets, process forms and similar reports.
• Assist in training less qualified operators.
• Maintain housekeeping practices per departmental 5S program.
• Meet utilization targets and standard times.
• Accurately enter Database/SAP transactions in the computer.
• Maintain daily records, including labor sheets and routers.
• Observe and follow all Environmental, Health and Safety rules and procedures.

• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Knowledge of gauging and measuring equipment preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Self‑motivated and results oriented.
• Ability to work in a team‑oriented environment.
• Good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
• Due to the nature of work performed at this facility, US Person status may be required.

Hourly Pay Ranges:
Level C ($19.00‑$21.50);
Level B ($22.00‑$24.50);
Level A ($25.00‑$27.50)
Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
