Registered Nurse, ECC Behavioral Health, Per Diem

The ECC Behavioral Health RN, under the supervision of the Nurse Director or designee, is responsible for the nursing care of assigned behavioral health patients located in the Emergency Care Center (ECC). The goal is to facilitate the ECC psychiatric patient's admission process to the inpatient psychiatric units or transfer to outside facilities. The ECC Behavioral Health Nurse will care for the behavioral health patient while awaiting consultation from PES or bed placement, including medication administration, vital signs, and ADLs.

This nurse will work closely with the ECC staff, Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES), and the inpatient psychiatric units.

License/Certification/

Education:

Required:

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a current license by the Massachusetts Board of Nursing.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for health care provider required upon hire or during orientation.
• Advanced Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 6 months of hiring.

• A minimum of 1 year emergency nursing or psychiatric nursing is preferred.
