Job Description
The certified nursing assistant provides direct and indirect care and related services to terminally ill patients with integrity and compassion. Communicates effectively to both patient/resident and nursing team members to ensure confidence and provide consistent care.
Provides for activities of daily living, such as assisting with meals, feeding, provision of fresh water and between meal nutrition
Record intake and output, record vital signs.
Provide for comfort needs of patient. Turn and reposition Q2 hours.
Promptly answers patient’s requests.
Assists with postmortem care.
Reports observations to the nurse caring for the patient to ensure professional assessment.
Works effectively and efficiently as a team member to provide excellent daily care for patients and assists in the orientation of new team members.
Utilizes resources and materials in an efficient and safe manner.
Communicates effectively to both patient/resident and nursing team members to ensure confidence and provide consistent care.
Patient advocate for quality of life.
