About the Role

The Behavioral Health Technician plays a critical role in supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges, particularly those with serious emotional disturbances (SED). This position involves working closely with clinical teams to implement treatment plans, provide crisis intervention, and ensure the safety and well-being of clients. The technician will engage directly with clients to observe behaviors, assist in therapeutic activities, and maintain accurate documentation of progress and incidents.

By effectively managing crises and supporting clients in their daily routines, the technician contributes to improved mental health outcomes and overall quality of life. This role requires compassion, vigilance, and strong communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families in a healthcare or social assistance setting across the United States.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in a related field preferred.
  • Experience or training in mental health, behavioral health, or related social services.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations and apply crisis intervention techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a healthcare or social assistance environment.
  • CPR certified.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification as a Behavioral Health Technician or equivalent credential.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances (SED).
  • Training in trauma-informed care and de-escalation methods.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Additional coursework or certification in mental health first aid or related areas.
Responsibilities
