Technician-Patient Care

Performs patient care tasks and basic patient care services under the supervision of a registered nurse. Provides compassionate care that promotes health and healing while respecting patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.

• Communicates and collaborates with the registered nurse.
• Performs patient care tasks such as vital signs, blood glucose testing, phlebotomy, electrode placement, and use of venous compression devices under RN supervision.
• Handles basic patient care services including measuring height and weight, monitoring intake and output, retrieving equipment and supplies, and maintaining patient rooms.
• Ensures a safe and clean environment by keeping rooms clutter-free, removing linens and trash, and maintaining a quiet atmosphere.
• Supports communication with patients and families, answers call lights, orients new patients, and assists with discharge procedures.
• Assists with patient mobility and safety checks, including safety rounds.
• Provides comfort measures such as offering water, ice, pillows, blankets, and assisting with meals.
• Transports non-monitored and monitored patients, including those who are intubated, with RN assistance.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

• Minimum of 1 year recent (within the past 6 months) experience in a related role.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

• CNA certification, AEMT/Paramedic licensure, or Medical Assistant certification.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
