We are seeking to appoint a Home to School minibus driver who will ensure the safety and security of students during their commutes. The successful candidate will maintain a safe and welcoming environment, enforce essential safety rules, and minimize the risk of accidents or incidents.
Responsibilities- Transport students to and from school and be available to drive students to and from Academy trips during the day.
- Work effectively, safely, flexibly, and support the operation of the company.
- Quickly establish positive and professional relationships with students, their carers/parents, and other key people.
- Keep the vehicle in a roadworthy, clean, and tidy condition at all times.
- Be available both morning and afternoon on all school days.
- Operate a morning and afternoon bus route, driving and taking responsibility for the children in your care.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence and be able to drive our 14‑seater Academy minibus.
- Pass an enhanced criminal record check for working with children and young people.
- Possess a D1 category driving licence (training to be provided if required).
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Proven basic vehicle maintenance skills.
- Experience in a driving role.
- Experience of undertaking basic grounds maintenance.
- Ability to understand and adhere to Child Protection and Safeguarding legislation.
- Experience in a similar setting would be advantageous.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Pass an enhanced criminal record check for working with children, young persons.
Contract:
Part Time/Permanent
Salary: SCP 7‑11 £ 26,403‑£28,142 FTE
Hours to be discussed at interview but likely 15‑20 hours per week (possibly more). The role may be funded to pursue D1 licensing if needed.
