About the Role:

As a Software Engineering Lead, you will be leading and liaising with dynamic, passionate cross functional teams, where collaboration as a team is key. You will be responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of Software Engineers who deliver value through web applications serving our customers various risk assessment needs. In this role, success means enabling your team to deliver high-quality software while creating an environment where engineers can grow and do their best work.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a development team to efficiently deliver features and capabilities.
  • Work closely with other developers to translate complex product requirements into software designs.
  • Promote collaboration between teams, share best practices, and help clear blockers.
  • Work with Product Manager to ensure the team has the right direction and is well aligned with other teams.
  • Raise security maturity across applications and delivery processes, ensuring security and privacy are built into day‑to‑day engineering practice.
  • Coach and develop your team members, through aligned objectives and goals.
  • Provide technical guidance and support, drawing on your experience to help teams make good decisions.
  • Act as a first point of support for resolving development issues, involving others where appropriate.
  • Champion responsible AI adoption within the team, helping engineers effectively use approved AI tools.
  • Deliver resilient solutions using Dev Ops practices and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Lead and influence design and delivery of scalable, resilient data platform services.
  • Collaborate across teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Uphold our commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and data‑driven decision‑making.
Qualifications
  • Experience building production software in at least one modern programming language (PHP, Java, Python, .NET, JavaScript).
  • Partner and lead internal and external technology resources in solving complex business needs.
  • Collaborate, support and drive team members to deliver on results, providing technical and professional guidance.
  • Design and work with complex data models.
  • Experience with Cloud Platforms (AWS), Infrastructure as code, MLOps, and Python (or similar technologies), along with monitoring and observability.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with diverse audiences.
  • Commitment to learning and adapting in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience mentoring and developing engineering talent.
  • Passion for building inclusive, high‑performing teams.
  • Willingness to attend Southampton office 2 days per week (reasonable accommodations available).
  • Experience with data platforms, distributed systems, and data pipelines in cloud‑native environments.
