Join us as Maritime Digitalisation Technology Lead, driving innovation in the maritime sector. You’ll lead policy engagement on cutting-edge technologies such as AI, Big Data, IoT, Machine Vision, AR, and emerging areas like Quantum. This outward-facing role involves horizon scanning, responding to industry developments, and assessing opportunities and risks from digitalisation trends. You’ll also support UK innovators entering the maritime market, guiding them through regulation and growth opportunities to shape the future of shipping.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Proven ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to build strong relationships and deliver outcomes.
* Experience and understanding of several of the following technologies: AI, Big Data, IoT, Machine Vision, Augmented Reality (AR), and emerging areas such as Quantum Computing.
* Experience supporting senior leaders by providing actionable insight and intelligence on digitalisation and AI developments.

About you
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:
Expertise in Key Technologies – Detailed knowledge of at least two of the following areas and awareness of others:
* Artificial Intelligence (AI)
* Big Data and Analytics
* Internet of Things (IoT)
* Machine Vision
* Augmented Reality (AR)
* Emerging technologies such as Quantum Computing
Understanding of Societal Impact – Awareness of how digitalisation technologies influence policy, regulation, and societal outcomes (e.g., safety, sustainability, workforce implications).
Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills – Ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Translation of Technical Detail into Actionable Insights – Skilled at converting complex concepts into clear, strategic advice for decision-makers.
