Join to apply for the Veterinary Receptionist role at IVC Evidensia

Unicorn Vets is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive veterinary receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will be the friendly first point of contact for our clients and patients – handling phone calls, scheduling appointments, processing payments, promoting our healthcare services and ensuring the reception area offers a welcoming environment.

We are seeking candidates who demonstrate exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to remain composed in high‑pressure situations. A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service is essential, along with the capability to collaborate effectively within a team. Prior experience in the veterinary field is advantageous.

Why join us? You will be joining a fantastic team that prides itself on being close‑knit and working hard while enjoying each other’s company. We are dedicated to providing a positive and collaborative working environment for every member of our team.

Our Park branch is a stone’s throw from Southampton Common, near seasonal fairs, park‑runs every Saturday morning, and is close to the beautiful New Forest, the South coast, the South Downs, 20 minutes’ drive from Winchester and a little over an hour’s train ride to London.

Your shift pattern
We are excited to offer a full‑time position, but we understand work‑life balance is important. Ideally, you will work 40 hours per week across four long days with a Wednesday off; however, we are open to considering part‑time or flexible working.

Please also note we may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.

Salary
Up to £26,000 FTE DOE

Benefits
In addition to a competitive salary, you will benefit from:

  • 6.6 weeks annual leave
  • Additional annual leave for your birthday added to your holiday allowance
  • Enhanced family‑friendly policies, including maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental and surrogacy pay
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Initiatives focused on employee wellbeing
  • Non‑accidental injury support
  • Learning and development opportunities via the IVC Evidensia Academy
  • Pawsome Benefits – reward gateway giving discounts and cashback with 100’s of retailers
  • Pension scheme
  • Discounted staff pet care
