A slightly different role that usual, as it’s down to you to make the most of the opportunity, grow your own freight forwarding desk, manage your own accounts and reap the rewards.
On behalf of an established freight forwarder with offices across the UK, we are looking to speak to commercially minded freight professionals who have solid relationships with customers who would follow them to a new employer.
We have advised the company that this is not longer the norm, as we would not expect or ask a candidate to ever poach clients away from their current employer. We would anticipate perhaps the successful candidate would be ceasing their own small business in freight or their current employer was closing the office etc…
The RolePrimarily you will be responsible for managing customer accounts from start to finish, from quotation to invoicing. This could be import, export, cross trades by air, sea or road. This really is a varied & specialist role that you can make your own.
Essential Criteria- Freight forwarding or liner operations experience – ideally out of gauge / breakbulk
- Commercially minded & proven sales background / ability
- Excellent communication skills
This is a position with a leading freight forwarder that is growing rapidly. This role will be based in their Southampton office.
