8)
– Fixed Term contract (37 hours) until 31stDecember 2028

We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Officer to join our Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) at Southampton City Council.

About the team

The Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) is a new element of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) research infrastructure funded by its Public Health Programme that will be based in local government. The purpose is to enable local authorities to become more research-active, undertake new research and use existing evidence to inform our decision making, and undertake evaluation activities.

There will be a central focus on health inequalities and actions to tackle issues faced by disadvantaged groups and areas.

About the role

As a Research Officer, you will help embed a culture of evidence informed decision making within Southampton City Council. In this pivotal role, you will help shape research priorities, develop research questions, conduct evidence reviews, identify and secure funding, and co-produce research in collaboration with partners.

Salary: The salary band for this role is £37,280 - £40,778. The starting salary is £37,280 with annual progression through the salary bands.
