Role DetailsBased at the Princess Anne Hospital, Bramshaw Ward is an 18-bedded ward that acts as an emergency admission area out-of-hours for patients with varying presentations. The ward covers all areas of gynaecology and early pregnancy (up to 20 weeks gestation). We are offering a Band 5 staff nurse position; full-time and part-time applications, permanent and secondment will be considered. Bramshaw ward is in charge of providing care for patients after procedures from the four theatres at the Princess Anne Hospital (obstetrics, gynaecology and breast surgery).
We work closely with neighbouring departments to offer optimum care and support for elective and emergency patients.

The flexibility to work the full range of shift patterns within a 24-hour shift pattern is essential. A smooth transition is provided through an individualised supernumerary period (including time spent in neighbouring departments) with a supportive ward team and an education team committed to team development. Successful candidates will be expected to support a 24/7 service.
Person SpecificationQualifications, Knowledge And Experience
Essential criteria
- Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
- Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register
- Knowledge of current issues within acute Health Service
- Understanding of personal accountability
- Knowledge of own role within the team
- Provide evidence of teaching and supporting learners in practice in the role of practice supervisor
- Awareness of evidence-based practice
- Awareness of responsibilities for management of infection control
- Evidence of ongoing personal development
- Able to use initiative
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of recent study
- Previous experience/qualification in relevant specialty
- Teaching experience
