We are looking for a self-motivated, creative individual with strong copy writing and planning skills to undertake the role of Senior Communications officer in the Communications team.
This particular role will support Southampton City Council’s Public Health team on communications strategies to deliver targeted messages to residents, colleagues and stakeholders.
Reporting to the Communications Manager for Wellbeing, you will be responsible for creating and implementing communications and engagement plans for a variety of projects. You will use a range of communications channels, from digital to traditional PR.
This role will suit someone with an empathetic approach, strong copywriting skills, writing for different audiences, creating content for different social media channels, and experience of working closely with the media and building relationships. Filming and editing experience is desirable, and the successful candidate should have a willingness to learn.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual looking to use their proven track record in the PR/Marketing/Communications industry to positively raise the profile of the work Southampton City Council does.
Experience in communicating a Public Health related subject would be an advantage, as well as a proven track record of influencing behaviour change.

SalaryThe salary band for this role is £41,771 - £46,141. The starting salary is £41,771 with annual progression through the salary bands.
