Registered Manager

Reablement Service

Southampton City Council is looking for a dynamic, experienced Registered Manager to lead our Reablement service on an interim basis.

This is a fast-paced, rewarding role where you’ll oversee high-quality, person-centred care for adults with learning disabilities, complex needs, and autism, while leading and inspiring a dedicated staff team.

Contract:

Initially 3 months

Hours:

37 hours per week
Rate: £33.50 per hour (Umbrella) (£26 PAYE an hour)

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the Reablement service to deliver safe, responsive, and effective care
Maintain CQC registration and prepare for inspections
Drive services to “Good” or “Outstanding” CQC standards
Place people at the heart of all decision-making and service delivery
Provide strong leadership, direction, and motivation to staff
Promote a culture of professionalism, learning, and continuous improvement
Support staff wellbeing, development, and retention
Safeguard service users and manage risk effectively
Oversee recruitment, induction, and ongoing staff development
Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and multi-disciplinary teams
Monitor budgets and contribute to service and business planning
Set, monitor, and report on KPIs and overall service performance

Essential Requirements:
Proven experience managing a registered care service
Background in learning disability, neurodiversity, autism, or complex needs
Track record of achieving Good or Outstanding CQC outcomes
Strong leadership and people-management skills

Experience with KPIs, performance management, and reporting
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and person-centred care
Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
