We are seeking a skilled and motivated technical professional to join our support team as a Digital Systems Support Specialist. This role provides support to both the National Institute for Health Research Coordinating Centre (NIHRCC) and the wider School of Healthcare, Enterprise and Innovation (HEI). The position is part of the Digital Services application support team, responsible for the digital services that underpin the work of NIHRCC and also offer support to the School.

What will you be doing?You’ll play a key role in supporting our digital operation resources, in particular the research grant application system used by the NIHRCC. You will provide first‑line customer and technical support to internal and external users, maintain and test application functionality and contribute to continuous improvement. You will help ensure our digital platforms run smoothly and meet user needs.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with our users and third‑party suppliers to design and document solutions that facilitate the provision of research grant activities. This involves analysis, testing, configuration, and maintenance of applications.
- Provide frontline support, managing incidents to resolution or referral while keeping detailed logs of incidents in our support systems.
- Work with colleagues to deliver innovative solutions that support our research goals.
- Ensure services are user‑focused, reliable, and aligned with evolving research needs.
We are looking for a professional who consistently strives for excellence, embraces new challenges and demonstrates a customer‑focused approach to service delivery. The successful candidate will manage their own workload under pressure and adapt to evolving processes and priorities.
It may also be advantageous if you have experience using the following techniques/tools:
- Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Full product lifecycle development
- Workflow‑driven development
- Software testing disciplines and practices
- Third‑party engagement/management
