HarBAR on 6th is Southampton’s rooftop destination bar, offering panoramic marina views, a vibrant cocktail culture and a dynamic events calendar. From resident DJ nights and sunset sessions to live music, themed parties and major calendar events such as Boat Show celebrations and New Year’s Eve, HarBAR blends high-energy nightlife with refined hotel service.

As a prominent waterfront venue, the bar regularly welcomes high-profile guests, including celebrities, professional footballers and visiting personalities. Discretion, professionalism and confidence are essential.

We are seeking a confident and commercially aware Assistant Bar Manager to support the leadership of this dynamic rooftop operation.

This is a hands‑on management role within a fast‑paced, high‑volume and entertainment‑led environment. You will work closely with the Bar Manager to deliver exceptional cocktail standards while maintaining the energy and theatre that define HarBAR, without compromising five‑star service expectations.

• Supporting the day‑to‑day management of the rooftop bar and events space
• Leading the team during DJ nights, live entertainment and large‑scale events
• Maintaining exceptional cocktail quality, consistency and presentation
• Driving premium product focus and upselling
• Managing stock control, ordering and gross profit performance
• Supporting rota planning and labour control
• Ensuring licensing compliance, health and safety and brand standards
• Delivering a polished, confident and discreet guest experience

• Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in a quality cocktail bar or premium venue
• Previous supervisory or assistant management experience
• Strong cocktail knowledge including classics and contemporary recipes
• Experience working in busy, entertainment‑led environments
• Commercial awareness and understanding of cost control
• A visible leader with presence, energy and high standards
• Confident engaging with VIP and high‑profile guests
• Passionate about delivering service excellence at a five‑star level

Experience with in a premium hotel bar, rooftop venue or destination late‑night bar would be highly advantageous.
