Consultant Psychiatrist -- Bluebird House (Forensic CAMHS)

Bluebird House is the South of England's medium secure unit for young people. It is part of the national network for forensic inpatient CAMHS with 3 other units in England. This is a rare opportunity to join our service and play a key role in shaping Forensic Mental Health Services for young people in the south.

Main duties of the job

The Trust is seeking to appoint a consultant forensic child and adolescent psychiatrist to join the existing team at Bluebird House. This is a full-time post with a potential to take up a leadership role as Clinical Lead for the unit.

Bluebird House is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team, with non-consultant medical staff (specialty doctor, resident doctor), psychology, occupational therapy, social worker, nursing and health-care support work provision. There are excellent links with community services such as school nursing, podiatry, dietetics, sexual health, substance misuse services as well as with secondary care services via University Hospital Southampton.
