Our CAMHS OT Team is seeking a resilient, enthusiastic, and dedicated practitioner to join our ward‑based team. This is your chance to be part of an innovative, fast‑paced service providing exceptional care to adolescents with complex mental health needs.
The service will follow a new model of working providing a 7‑day OT service, working the long day model alongside our nursing colleagues. You'll be part of an MDT working collaboratively with medical and psychological teams, to deliver therapeutic interventions and holistic care.
You will work with the young people offering them an Occupational Therapy assessment, interventions and discharge planning. Using VdT Model of Creative Ability, Model of Human Occupation and Sensory Integration Principles. You will also have the chance to help shape the development of this new service, ensuring the highest standards of care and evaluate this new way of working.
Main duties of the jobWe're looking for someone who is:
- Compassionate & Resilient: Passionate about supporting young people through vulnerable stages of their journey.
- Team‑Focused: Ready to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Not looking for a regular 9‑5: Willing to work a long‑day model (07:00‑20:30) including some weekends.
- Good Communication skills
- Excited about the innovative and creative potential of OT.
You will be expected to:
- Manage a caseload of service users with complex needs, using evidence‑based/client‑centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
- Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the occupational therapy services within a designated area / team.
- Regularly supervise occupational therapy students on practice placement.
- Develop skills and knowledge through participation in relevant training & learning opportunities.
